Darren Bessette

Was born August the 4th 1977 in Leominster Massachusetts to parents Sharon and Roland Bessette and one older sibling Ryan Bessette.

He grew up in the  small town of Ashby Massachusetts where, at the ripe old age of 4, was singing into a hairbrush entertaining the family to Elvis Presley,  both hair brush and Elvis provided by his mother Sharon.

Throughout grade school and high school Darren really had no interest in playing or performing music.  Rather, he attended every Country music concert he could.  His first was a Farm Aid Concert in Cheshire New Hampshire featuring Willie Nelson and Billy Ray Cyrus.  However,  his favorite artist and the one who influenced him the most is the great Garth Brooks.

When he was 18 he discovered karaoke and a love for singing.  Several years later he learned to play the guitar and began songwriting with friends and performing solo at various bars and venues throughout New England.

In 2004 Darren recorded his first Album complete with 13 original songs and pieced together his own band for studio recording in Nova Scotia Canada known then as the "Destination Bound Band".  January 25th of 2005 The Album "Ten Thousand Miles" was released to a crowd of over 3,000 souls at his hometown high school.   Darren, as well as his fans were at the edge of their seats for the next 9 years and counting.

Later that year and after the release of "Ten Thousand Miles", Darren produced and headlined his own New England tour playing, choreographing, marketing ,and to his surprise, selling out each event to crowds of over 1,000 seats across New England and selling close to 10,000 records in the first year.

Darren moved to Nashville in  late 2005 and made his way up in the ranks in the music business never slowing down and was finding himself surrounded by some of Nashvilles finest talent and incredibly was being featured on several tours throughout the East Coast and MidWest as well as countless award show events such as the CMT Awards and CMA's being nominated for his song "Country Philosophy".

From 2006 to late 2008 Darren opened for such acts as Kenny Cheney, Keith Urban, George Strait, and literally hundreds more.....

Later in 2008/09 Darren also founded and stared in his own songwriters forum known as the "American Song Writers Circle" where his good songwriting friends Tony Arata, Pat Alger, Ralph Murphy, James Dean Hicks and Richard Leigh all toured New England together.

Darren also founded and managed his own record label Moxie Music LLC with Rick Shedd and Summer Harman of "Broken Bow Records Nashville" on his staff.

Darren's daughter, Grace Mackenzie Bessette entered the world on July 13 2007 and it changed his life forever. He moved back home to raise his daughter.   Being on the road was no longer as important as watching Grace grow up.

Recently in October 2013 he was offered a spot opening for Hank Williams Jr through William Morris and Live Nation.

A brand new album is in the early stages  he still travels back and fourth to Nashville writing with an array of incredibly talented writers.  .A humbling experience to say the least.

What the future holds for him at this point is anyone's guess....but rest assured with his daughter Grace by his side, and a lifetime of experience in the heart of the music business to share, he will be one to watch.
