Tim Delongchamp
Tim has been playing the drums for 31 years now. He started at the young age of 6 when he received his first drum set from his grandparents. Even since then, he has not looked back. Tim was born on July 4th of 1977 and grew up in Auburn Massachusetts.
Growing up, Tim studied with various teachers in the central MA area and played in numerous bands. After college, Tim continued his education in music and studied with a professional instructor out of Berklee College of Music. Tim spent this time fine-tuning his skills in the genres of Jazz, Funk, Latin, Fusion, Rock, and yes, Country Music. During that time, Tim was doing session work in local studios and playing in various bands in the New England area. One certain band named Primrose was more than special for him as he not only got to play country music in front of some really nice crowds, but through that band he met his best friend and wife Bonnie who is also a very seasoned musician who has been singing professionally in the New England area for 35 years.
Over the past two years, Tim has been studying privately with one of his biggest mentors and drumming hero’s (to remain nameless). “I have been so blessed to get to spend some time and study from one of my personal favorite drummers in the world. He has really helped bring it back to basics for me and rebuild my playing foundation. Through his guidance and coaching, my playing has evolved to levels that I could have only imagined before. I still have a long way to go but I look forward to every step of the way”.
Tim is honored to be part of the NETN (New England To Nashville) house band and has backed many Nashville Recording Artists such as Jilly Martin, Lance Carpenter, Ryan Brooks Kelley, Jesse Terry, The Wheeler Sisters, Morgan Myles, Jason Gregory, Allen Shevelle and Ayla Brown over the years in New England and in Nashville. “Country music has really evolved in New England and it is truly a pleasure playing music to people from all over who really come to appreciate the music.” One of the highlights of those tours was opening up for Sara Evans in Boston and Colt Ford in Foxboro MA.
Tim’s influences include Buddy Rich, Vinnie Colaiuta, Chris Fryar, Dave Weckl, Keith Carlock, Art Blakey, and SO many more.
“I am honored to be playing with Darren and his band. Darren is the real deal. His music speaks to your soul and makes you feel something which is what I look for in music that I listen to. If you know his music and you come see us live, you will soon come to LOVE his music. Not only from the messages and the stories that he tells in each song, but also through the energy that he brings onto the stage each and every night. “
